Who can make a donation?
Residents or businesses or anyone who has an interest in the district or the current project. All donations, regardless of the type or amount, are greatly appreciated. See our About the Fund page for more information.
How do I donate?
Donations can be made by check or credit card. Donations by check can be mailed and credit card donations will be accepted over the phone.
Service Donations can be in the form of labor and/or materials relevant to the current project and can be submitted on our How to Donate Page.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Absolutely, as a 501(c)3 charitable organization, all donations made to the District A Fund through the Luzerne Foundation are tax deductible.
How do I suggest a project?
If you have an idea for a project you can submit your suggestion through our "Suggest a Project" form.
What type of project is eligible?
Any project that will maintain, repair and improve the existing municipal and community facilities throughout the District, as well as to enhance the safety and security for all residents.
Who approves a project?
All suggested projects are reviewed by our committee for approval. Also, any project that the committee deems worthwhile will need to be approved by the city.
Aren't my tax dollars for this purpose?
Well yes, but unfortunately there is only enough tax revenue to apply to basic services within the city. The projects entertained by the Fund are above and beyond those that the tax revenue can suffice.
